10th Feb. 2015 - Coastal Committees of Management Membership – Barwon SW Region - Expressions of Interest
The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning is seeking expressions of interest for voluntary committee member positions on the Otway Coast (Apollo Bay to Wye River / Separation Creek) and Great Ocean Road Coast (Torquay to Lorne) Committees of Management.
These committees are established under the Crown Land (Reserves) Act 1978 to manage coastal reserves along the Great Ocean Road. They do this on behalf of all Victorians consistent with the Victorian Coastal Strategy 2014. The appointments will be for a voluntary term for up to 3 years. The committees meet once per month and members are required to attend at least 75% of scheduled meetings.
Applicants will be selected on the basis of their skills, experience and personal qualities outlined in the application packages. Highly sought after skills include; engineering, legal, financial or other professional skills, working on boards/committees, public sector governance, networking and dealing with stakeholders, environment/coastal management and marketing and communication. Applicants must have a demonstrated connection to the local coastal communities.
